WHAT IS YOUR CLAIM TO FAME?
Most people probably know me from working on air at Fox News Channel for 6 years, which I did before starting at KTLA in Los Angeles in 2013.

My son Cash is 5 and my daughter Cameron is 4
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TREAT/ CHEAT MEAL? HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE A CHEAT MEAL?
My ultimate cheat treat is a McDonald’s Oreo Mcflurry! My policy is eating healthy and low carb for five days during my work week and then on my weekends I don’t stress out about it.
HOW DO YOU EAT WELL AS A MOM ON THE GO?
I make green juice at home in my juicer- (recipe below) enough for four days worth, so I’ll bring one of those containers of juice with me, along with nut packs, power bars or Apple slices, and flavored sparkling water.
WHAT FOOD CAN’T YOU LIVE WITHOUT?
Coffee!! I’m have almost 7 years sober so it’s my one and only vice! And I just started incorporating caffeine into a healthy shake! I mix cold coffee brew in my Vitamix with a scoop of vanilla protein powder, half a frozen banana, ice and lots of spinach- try it!!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CLEAN MEAL?
If I’m going out to a restaurant then it’s an ahi tuna salad, but if I’m cooking at home I like to throw chicken breasts in my baby crockpot with buffalo hot sauce, then shred it and add in diced avocados. I also heat up canned artichoke hearts in a pan with spicy marinara sauce!
ARE THERE ANY FOODS THAT YOU AVOID AT ALL COSTS?
Donuts, croissants, bagels, muffins, candy- carbs like this are the devil!! I have an addictive personality and if I eat that stuff in the morning then my whole day is ruined, because I figure “well I ruined my diet so I might as well keep eating,” which is a horrible, messed up philosophy I keep trying to change. So…I gotta just stay away from junk food- never buy it or have it in my home!
WHAT’S YOU FAVORITE EXERCISE?
It’s a toss-up between a spin class or a challenging vinyasa flow yoga class.
HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED?
Knowing that I’m on TV keeps me motivated because the camera really does add ten pounds. I yo-yo pretty quickly so the most I can go eating like crap and not exercising is like 4-5 days MAX!
IF YOU COULD ONLY OFFER ONE TIP TO A MOM TRYING TO GET BACK INTO SHAPE WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Workout WITH your baby! Find a way to incorporate your little kiddo into some exercise moves, such as squats, lunges, arm curls, or just lift the baby up in the air and do a bunch of reps.
WHEN YOU FEEL UNMOTIVATED WHAT DO YOU DO?
I go for a power walk on the beach or take an easier yoga class. I tell myself that it’s better than nothing, and after the exercise my energy is usually kickstarted again.
HOW HAS TRANSFORMING YOURSELF PHYSICALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LIFE?
How about how having children transformed my body? I can’t even do jumping jacks, aerobics, or run anymore because I will pee myself. I’m not afraid to admit that- because half of my mom friends have the exact same problem! It seems to be a 50/50 curse- but it sucks because I am more limited in what I do for exercise now. Won’t be trying Zumba again that’s for sure- unless I go in with some Depends! Keep it Friel!!

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE? DO YOU HAVE ANY WORDS OF WISDOM OR ADVICE, POSSIBLY SOMETHING THAT HELPED YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
It is soooo hard right after having kids, figuring out how you will you ever fit workouts in and lose that baby weight? I recommend joining a gym with a child care facility- or if you have the money to get a personal trainer come to your house, even better, but my biggest piece of advice is to try meditation and cut yourself some slack. I can’t compare myself to the skinnier women at my news station without kids, who take 2 spin classes a day, and eat out every meal, or not at all. The “mom of small kids” phase of our lives is “just for now”. Children grow up, go to school, so if you just do the best you can each day- move a little, eat healthy, and be grateful for what you have- that’s empowering in itself!
